Bullet Points: The Revenge

  • As Chad said, long week.
  • However! I read that Invincible Iron Man #24 preview at CBR. Page six? Something I’ve been hoping someone would do to the Ghost for a long-ass time.
  • I dropped everything to read Scalped #35, “The Turning of the Earth.” One part Sherman Alexie, one part Cormac McCarthy, all Jason Aaron at his best. Please, someone give this man an Eisner.
  • You don’t know who Sherman Alexie is? Here, read “What You Pawn I Will Redeem.”
  • Rantz Hoseley and the guys at LongBox Digital posted an update on their public beta yesterday. Kieron Gillen scored us two beta codes at SDCC last year; we are eagerly awaiting the launch.
  • Because, c’mon, an app that is agnostic about the legitimacy of your existing digital comics collection, but provides you an easy path to legit copies of everything, too? That’s the iTunes model applied to comics, and I like that idea.
  • This week’s Anglo-Saxon word from Madame Xanadu’s Linguistics Institute: “hafocfugel,” or “hawk.” Madame X #19 continues the flashback to Arthurian times, and it’s still a great read.
  • The guys at Red 5 blurbed us in a review roundup for Atomic Robo and the Revenge of the Vampire Dimension #1. Thanks, Paul and company!
  • This week: less work, more reviews.
